Merry Christmas

I'm almost 30, single, spent Christmas away from my family this year, and was not miserable. I in fact, had a great time.

Now, I don't say this to rub it into anyone's faces. Being alone on Christmas can be so very hard. I have had some really hard Christmas's being alone/away from family.

But this year was different. Though, I haven't been with family, I have been with friends. I got to snuggle with an 11 year old and watch White Christmas tonight, we got to read Christmas books, each homemade pizza, have a fun time together.

I am lucky and blessed, to have friends that will welcome me into their home for Christmas.

I don't know where you ended up tonight, or where you will be tomorrow. But I hope that you are in a place that will be amazing. It may not be with family, it may not be with friends. But if nothing else, remember that Christmas is Christmas because a mother who didn't have a place, (ended up in a stinky barn) gave birth to a son, and that son grew up, rocked us by radical things he said, was put on an unfair trial, killed then resurrected, and in Him giving us His life, we can be saved from our wrong-doings, our sin.

Even if we have nothing else. We have the power of Christ and his life to celebrate. If we are friendless or family less in the next few days, remember that we still have that to celebrate and rejoice in.

Merry Christmas!
