Comparing life to TV

I been binge watching Grey's Anatomy this weekend. Today after the 4 episode of the morning I had a realization. The drama and the things that the characters are doing through in season 5 are a lot bigger deal than they were in season 1.

They have been hard things all the way through, but they keep getting more and more intense. Main characters are dying. The hospital is dealing with huge lawsuits and money issues; mergers are happening, and the main characters are struggling in knowing what to do.

The entire time of the show they have had to face big things. Thye are always struggling through something and typically lots of somethings at the same time. But when I compare what is in front of them at the start of season 6 compared to what they had to face in season 1, these items are WAY BIGGER.

What makes them bigger?

They have grown up. They are now in charge; they have to deal with the things that their old bosses had to deal with now.

Their hospital is at a different place financially; they have to deal with and think about money a little now, where before it wasn't a thought.

They are closer now to the chief than they were when they were new hires, This relationship gives them insight to the things going on in the hospital big picture, not just in their field of study.

That is just how TV works; you gotta keep making it bigger, making it more shocking or we lose interest in the show.

I have been comparing my life to Grey's Anonoey.

It is making this season of my life make a little more sense. My job has always had challenges apart of it, but the farther you get into something some things will just get harder.

I have grown-up. I have faced challenges in the past and those just grow on each other, and things will get harder

Our camp is in a different financially than it was when I started. We are doing better than we were, but in that timeframe, we have had to tighten up on some things to allow us to grow. That is hard. I am friends with our "chief", and I know a lot of the behind the scene things, and I know when I am not being told the behind the scene things (hardest part)

The last category is specific to TV shows, but I think the Lord keeps our lives on our toes. It isn't meant to be easy, and we need to keep interest in our lives.

We are meant to grow and change. This happens in TV and it happens in real life. I've been struggling with life. And I will continue to struggle with life, and knowing that TV is going through the same thing as I do.
